About the Author
While Patricia Roberts has helped tens of thousands of families prepare for the cost of higher education through her work with 529 college savings plans over the past 20 years, she is determined to help even more.
With recent surveys suggesting that nearly 65% of Americans are unfamiliar with 529 plans and with student debt in the U.S. hovering around $1.6 trillion, Patricia decided to use some spare time during this period of social distancing to write an easy-to-understand guide for those with future students in their lives so that they can become aware of the existence and usefulness of these plans.
In her favorite role of all (as a mom), Patricia saved a little at a time with 529 college savings plans directly from her paycheck. She was thrilled to see her son graduate debt free from college.
She wants others to understand just how easy to use and versatile these plans can be and wants others to experience the peace of mind and sense of accomplishment that comes with being prepared for higher education costs.
